Little "Romers" has been chattering away saying "nan nan nan nan nan" for a little while now, but today she has started to say "dad dad dad dad". Arh now isnt that nice :)
Coming to a theatre near you! "Black Sheep".
"An experiment in genetic engineering turns harmless sheep into blood-thirsty killers that terrorize a sprawling New Zealand farm."
Get ready for violence of the lambs!
You cant be serious? Is this a real movie?
For a long time I have wanted a digital photo frame. One day this week whilst in town I almost purchased one - but didnt - due to their cost. $300 odd dollars for a reasonably sized photo frame is just way too expensive me thinks. But I had a better idea. I have a spare 15" LCD monitor (have been using it as my secondary display on my PC), so I got onto Ebay, found a cheap PC for $52.00 and whammo.. I now have a custom digital photo frame!
Its awesome! The PC is slimline so its hidden in the lounge room, all you see if the LCD monitor which has a cycle of photographs on display as the windows screen saver. Now only is my version of the Digital Photo frame cheaper then the retail version, but the quality is far superior.
Its two weeks since my 'stay at home Mr Mum' stint commenced. I am enjoying it although I really do miss the 'adult stimulation'. Thats sounds almost pornographic, but its simply a reference to being able to communicate and engage with other adults.
I am attempting to get out to see people - like meeting up with friends for lunch etc, but I must admit on some days it just feels easier to stay at home. So I need to force myself to get out.
The other thing which I have found is that whilst I had marked and identified all of these 'projects' to do (as small as cleaning out a cupboard and as grand as digging out the backyard and having it turfed), Im finding it increasingly difficult to do any of them! Romers just isnt sleeping as much as I expected her to do during the day time. I dont know if thats because I just didnt know how little she would sleep during the day or if she has changed her sleeping habits now that she is a bit older. Eitherway, the house is a mess with about a dozen or so 'projects' at various stages of completion.
Yeah thats something else about me isnt it.. I get bored and like to start something new before I completely finish my old task :)
Romilly has been ill the last few days - first time she has been sick since she was born, its taken 7 months so thats quite good. She has had a fever, no other symptoms, baby panadol is good at controlling the fever - but I will take her to the Dr's today for an assessment.
Walking to the local shoppping centre today and stumbled across a CD wallet with a heap of CDs in it - just sitting there beside the road. I assume that they had fallen out of somebodies car when they opened the door.
All up, I think there is one worthy CD in the whole lot - Best of the Smiths. Although there is also a Foo Fighters CD there which I think I may keep and give a few 'spins'.
Anyway, probably the most interesting point of the find was one of the other CD's in the CD wallet. You see the other day we had one of the music channels on the TV and Romilly was laying on the floor in the lounge room when that song by the Darkness came on, you know the one "I believe in a thing called love". Romilly went crazy.. she was thrashing her little legs and arms about and attempting to sing along to it. All to Annabelle's amusement and my disappointment (I hate the Darkness!). So guess what one of the CD's in the CD wallet is that I found? Out of the hundreds of thousands of CD's which are available - you got it.. one of them is that damn Darkness CD with that track on it. Maybe I should keep it and play it now and again for her.
Eitherway, I think most of these CDs will be going to my mate Jason - they are more in tune with his musical tastes then mine. Out of interest this is what was in the wallet.
Smiths, Foo Fighters, Darkness, Queens of the Stoneage, The White Stripes, Spiderbait, Audioslave, The Strokes, Nick Cave, Gomez, Dave Graney (saw them live once - gosh they sucked), Janes Addiction, The Go Betweens, The Ramones and finally the Saints.
My first 'official' day as Mr Mum - going it alone (Annebelle's first day back at work today). I hope my first day 'on the job' isnt as eventful as my mate Eden's who on his first day as Mr Mum had to content with an intruder standing in the middle of his bathroom. Yikes.
