Viewing Pleasure

You know that feeling you get sometimes when you listen to a song, or read a book, or see a movie which blows your mind. And after it you simply know that piece of art has really touched you? Mostly when you see a (film/book/song) you think yeah thats ok - but its rare when it gives you that special feeling. Amelie gave it to me. So did The Virgin Suicides - these are not the only ones, but just a few.

Sometimes I long for that feeling. You cant make it happen.. normally it hits you when you dont expect it.. sort of like love I spose. But I know that at times I want to watch a movie where at the end of it I have that feeling.. where it has blown my socks off.. I wish all movies were like that (really I dont, because it would take away the specialness of 'that' feeling) - rather then the normal feeling I get when I watch a standard film. Thats not to say I dont like normal standard films.. I do.. but those ones that touch you are special. I like that.

So sitting at home the other night looking from the movie collection of 'unseen' movies, I wanted something that would come close to giving me that special feeling. Spiderman2 just wasnt going to do it. But then I spied a movie which my mate Rusty had recommended to me ages ago.. which I had thrown onto video but never watched it.. so I put it on.

Run Lola Run. What a fantastic movie.. I loved it.. it gave me the thrill and it was just what I was looking for. If you havent seen it, then see it.. its worth it..

I Should Have Expected It

Why does it come as some sort of surprise that Kurt from brokengod.net and I have similar plans? Kurt and I met (online) many many years ago when we used to visit the same BBS. It soon became very clear that we had been best of buddies or related somehow in a past life. Or maybe we are siblings now and there was a mix up at the hospital or something?

Anyway.. we seemed to hit it off straight away - it must have been the melding of our sacarstic wit.. and it came to the point where whilst we have only met face to face less then a dozen times we were able to complete each others setences and kept running into or making contact with each other at the most bizarre of times/places. Like both planning (seperately) to go and see the same not so well known band - without each of us know that either of us would be there. Or time that I arranged to have a beer with Kurt and Michelle and introduced them to my girlfriend only to find that they both knew and were friends with Annabelle's brother. All very odd.

Anyway, so I gave myself a good old chuckle when I found out that the most recent of coincidences between Kurt and myself..

The arrangements have been made, it happened must faster and with much less fuss then I expected. I am pleased.

About Time

Its been a while since I have blogged. Any reason? Not really just too busy.. So there must have been alot happening that I can blog about? Not really its all been boring busy as opposed to thrilling busy. Arhh ok right!?!

But here are the highlights - and lowlights whichever way you look at it.

- Finally got GPS running on my Pocket PC - using a Route Planner is way cool except that the speaker on my IPAQ is too soft to really hear it and have any music playing on the stereo.. all I need to do now is get the audio from my IPAQ to run through my stereo speakers in the car..

- I have also been provided with a Dell Laptop (2.4 gig with all of the mod cons) for all of my hard work on another website that I run :) Muchly appreciated..

- Belle and I have also booked or tickets for our 7 week overseas holiday.. woo hoo! Cant wait..

- And I have a new job starting in a few weeks.. same money but more work.. cant be happy with that..
