Seeing my second Duran Duran show within 24 hours I really couldnt believe it.. it must be some sort of a dream.. just dont wake me up :)

Regular readers will know how long I have waited to see Duran Duran - 20 years.. never expecting that they would ever tour here after leaving it so long - and never in my wildest dreams expecting to see the original 5 live.. those wildest dreams came true this weekend.

After securing tickets to see them both in their solo show at the Enmore and also with Robbie Williams at the Football stadium my weekend was set. And to make things even better it was all happening within the space of 2-3 days after my birthday!

Tarrintino's latest offering has been a long time coming.. departing from his normal style of 'snappy dialogue' he has opted for more of a Japanese Style fighting movie. Bold move? Yep. When anyone departs from what they are good at - and moves out of their comfort zone its always going to be a risk.

I finally saw the movie a few weeks back.. and well.. I was impressed.. I did like it.. I wasnt sure if I would.. but I did - I am happy to say. The indication of a good movie for me is that it plays on my mind, and I keep thinking about it long after the credits have rolled. And thats been the case in this movie. There are many cool things, both direction wise and character wise. Kill Bill Volume one! Make sure you see it.. I cant wait for Volume 2.

One movie that I was disappointed with was the last of the Matrix trilogy. On its own it probably is a great movie.. the action and battle scenes (whilst stolen from Aliens and Star wars - whats with the force?) were really really good. But given that it was the last film in the series it had alot of things that it needed to tie up.. and well.. it didnt do it did it. Not wanting to spoil the film for anyone who may not have seen it yet. Just let me say - dont expect any major significant explainations to the whole Matrix thing.. I expect the movie to have a major twist.. it didnt and was far as I am concerned there is still a lot unanswered..

I have waited 20 years for Duran Duran to tour.. call me stupid or call me loyal. They did finally annouce their very own solo show here in Sydney at the Enmore theatre. Woo hoo! The venue holds about 2,000 people I think, so its nice and small.

Anyway, I did manage to get some tickets in the pre-sale offer to the Duran community. So I have secured myself tickets! Though today the tickets went on sale for the general public. I thought I would grab some more tickets for some friends, I managed to get two more. The sale started at 9.00am, by 9.03am I tried to buy some more and I found it was sold out! Wow! 3 minutes! I would never have believed it.

So next week is looking like this:

Wed Birthday, Friday Duran Duran @ Enmore. Saturday Duran Duran and Robbie Williams and then Sunday if I really wanted to I could see Duran Duran and Robbie Williams again.. lets see how good the first show is. What? Well I was going to go to Melbourne too!

Now all I need to do is try and sell my Lloyd Cole tickets (3rd Row) which I already had for Friday night.. but if Mr Cole is silly enough to put himself up against the Fab five, then of course he is going to come off second best..

The fishing trip.. the trip was good the fishing wasnt! Infact the week we were down south, they had the most rain they have had all year. I cant complain too much they needed the rain.. and it didnt really stop us fishing our doing what we wanted to do.. so it wasnt that bad. Its just a shame the fish werent biting.

Back at work.. dont want to be there.. as busy as anything.. infact Im probably the busiest I have ever been at the moment. Too much to do, too little time.

And its leading up to a very busy time for me.. birthday is next week :) If you are not familiar with Birthday week, then I suggest you research it and adopt it.

And I got some Duran Duran tickets.. have only waited 20 years for them..
