Its been a while, so here is the update. Work is busy.. accepted move on. Eventually put my car in for a service, I can scratch that off my todo list, $900 later.. sigh. And thats not even mentioning the twisted and sprained ankle I got.. its a long story, but walking back from the car service centre I errm.. fell over and twisted my ankle. :) I have weak ankles.. last time I did a similar thing I broke my foot.. so I should consider myself lucky..
Have upgraded my PC.. P4-2.6 :) Smiles all 'round, including from those who get the hand me down old PC, and the subsequent flow on effects. Infact its a bit like butterfly wings.. Rob upgrades his PC and it probably ends up effecting and making several 100 people happy as the hand my down old PC creates a cascading effect.. which results in some one in a third world country getting a 'near' new pair of sandles.. I dont know.. think about it..
Duran Duran - after 20 years of patient waiting (I knew the loyalty would pay off) are finally touring our fab shores again.. (cue fanfare: Whoo Hoo!).. They are playing with Robbie Williams - which is ok.. we have our tickets, will probably get tickets soonish to the 2nd show which has just gone on sale, and we have everything crossed so that they may annouce some smaller shows of their own.. I would be in Duranie Heaven if they played somewhere like the Metro.
In celebration, I have decided to have a 'featured MP3' link in the right hand panel - the MP3 will change from time to time.. but it kicks off with the 1984 Oakland version of The Reflex from Duran themselves. This version is a whole lot better then the version they seem to be playing these days..
In preparation for dinner, I got some frozen peas out of the freezer.. put them in a bowl and then put a small amount of water over them and into the bottom of the bowl in preparation for nuking.
Whilst sitting there and waiting to have zillions of radiation particles zapped over them, I expected that the water would help defrost the peas. To my amazement and slight delight, I found that the peas had infact frozen the water and turned it to ice :)
I was impressed.
Eitherway they are about to be nuked in 5 4 3 2 1...
Today I voted for one of the contestants on Australian Idol. I have never cast an SMS vote for anything before, and I probably never will again. Im not a 'player' so to speak.. and I generally think its really silly. Although I do like watching the whole viewer vote genre of TB shows.. Im not a voter myself.
So why did I vote today? Well like I said.. I dont really care about any of the contestants.. it was all about upsetting the system.. one of the singers on the show got blasted by the judges.. she probably deserved it.. I didnt actually see/hear her sing.. but I did hear the judges give her a blasting.. so much so that they made her cry on national TV. Not that I am against that either.. heck it makes for good TV and that sort of stuff appeals to me anyway..
But one of the local Radio stations here in Sydney (NOVA96.9) started a Save Michelle campaign. And pledged everyone - even people like me who dont normally vote to SMS and vote for poor old cry baby Michelle. Like I said.. I dont care who wins.. but I am impressed with the idea that this Radio stations plea could upset the whole voting system.. and quite possibly get someone through to the next stage who would not normally have progressed or deserved to progress.
This appeals to the rebel in me - so I voted :)
NB: There is no connection between this cry baby Michalle and the Michelle who Kurt goes out with - who might I add is a star and really cool (thats Michelle not Kurt btw :))
