The Month of Birthday's

August.. you have to love it.. its the last month of Winter (if you live down south that is).. the air is fresh and crisp, the days are getting longer, the sun is starting to shine more, the birds can smell spring.. and its the bloody month of birthdays! What gives! It seems that its everyone birthday this month.. here have a look:

It was Erin's is on 12th, mum's on 19th, Neil's on 21st, Russell's today (25th - Happy birthday mate), Kirsten's on 27th, and then there was Annabelle's family and friends as well for the month. All up its a full month of celebrations.

And it was Annabelle and my anniversary on the 2nd.. what a month!

Heartbeat

I think I have mentioned before - probably early on in the shallow.end, that I have whats called a Mitral Valve Prolapse. In simple terms, the valve going into my heart from my lungs is floppy :) It doesnt close right. So this means I generally tend to get my heart look at every 4 or so years.

Anyway, today was my check up. And of course its all good.. infact the Dr said its very minor and really nothing to worry about. He did say that I need to get fit though, lose some kilos (as of today I am 100kg!), eat properly and exercise.

Thats fine.. infact this is something that I want to do (as he chews on his butter drenched burnt turkish toast)..

What I kinda find a bit funny though is that my Cardiologist looks like he is in a much much greater need to change his eating habits and do a few laps of the old oval himself..

I dont know, but I think.. if Im a Cardiologist then 1. Im going to look after my own health as a priority, and 2. If I dont look after myself then my appearance probably isnt putting alot of faith in those people who come in to see me.

Its like joining a gym run by well.. people who shouldnt be running it - and going to a beauty salon thats run by [insert your favourite ugly personality here] - well Prince.

Burnt Toast!

What do you do when you burn your toast - turkish bread in this case? Do you throw it away and start again? Or do you just give it a bit of a scrape (optional), butter it up and eat it.

Im the dont worry about it, butter it up and eat it sort of a guy. But here is the catch.. only with turkish bread. I tend to like turkish bread quite browned up and even the edges a bit burnt and crunchie.

Normal bread.. I like just heated and half toasted.. still soft.

Like you cared anyway?

Blown Light Bulb

For those of you who stopped by earlier and noticed that I was offline - I would just like to report that I tracked it down to a blown light bulb :) Ok maybe it wasnt that... seems that robjess.com managed to suck 3 gig worth of data across the network this month! Wow!

Who would have though.. it didnt all come from the shallow.end though.. most of it came from Wacht am Rhein - the official unoffical site for SSG's Decisive Battles or World War II. Without being too technical, whilst the site is hosted by the wargamer, alot of the content, and the content management system is run from my domain (ie: Moveable Type and the BBS).

Eitherway, we have changed the light bulb (errm.. upgraded the account) and everything is back to normal.

Thanks to those of you who reported that the site was down. It shows that more then 1 person reads this site :)

Good Intentions

Sometimes no matter what your best intentions are.. someone always misinterprets them and things seem to go astray...

Sweetie I love you and Im sure it will all be ok in the end.
