The Problem Is Choices

Have just returned from seeing the Matrix - Reloaded. Of course, the problem is that we have choices.. if you have seen the movie when you will know what I am talking about..

..and as I have previously reported via this website.. (here) I agree that that is the problem. Remove all choices and life would be so much easier. Remember you read about it here first!

Overall, I liked the movie.. I had heard a few not so good reports about it.. but I though it was great.. I think the biggest problem people may have had with it was that it didnt effect them like the first one did.. the first movie was ground breaking.. it was the first time we had seen 'bullet time' - it was all new. This movie isnt ground breaking in that regard.. its more of the first one.. same same. Which to me is good.. great scenes, great concepts and it really makes you think.. well it did me anyway..

Infact.. I want to talk about the movie now.. whilst I dont think what Im about to say is going to give anything away as such.. if you havent seen it yet though, you may not want to read this next bit.. (continued)..

Remember this?

Annabelle and I have rediscovered some 1970's technology. Whilst I have taken to playing ROMs on the PC, Annabelle has ordered a 2nd hand one from Ebay.. who needs a PS2 anyway..

Accordingly, this site will now take on a "G" classification.. ermm ok.. then maybe a "PG" rating.

404 Gottcha!

A while back I create my own 404 error page. I wondered how long it would be before someone mentioned something or sent an email to me about it. One of my friends, who will remain nameless to protect them from embarrassment - mentioned to me that they were on my website when suddenly, they got a message that their HDD was about to be formatted..

In a panic, they quickly pulled the phone cord out of the wall thinking they were being attacked by a hacker over the web :) Whilst they can see the humour in it now, I dont think they did at the time. Of course I laughed long and hard.

For those of you who dont know what I am talking about.. click here and it should give you my 404 error page.

At Odds

Today I wore two odd socks to work. Typical that I had to attend Regional Exec. I hid my feet under the desk all day :)

Annabelle has been in Melbourne since Saturday.. when the cat is away.. the mouse will.... errm.. not act any differently really.. lounge, TV, Internet, Laze.. sleep..

Oh I lead a boring life..

Finally Some Snaps

Having finally sound some time where I am not so busy.. I have now uploaded some of the photographs from our holiday in Port Douglas.

The Edge of America

Walk the edge of America,
A concrete beach to scrape my head.
Inside the subway stinking fear and shame
Becomes the violent breath.

The Vigilante's out on dawn patrol,
But now there's nothing left to hide.
I'm just a number on the metal fence,
Which marks the great divide.

[Sing it]

Hey boy, give your dreams a rest,
If you're tired of searching, this is where it ends.
There's nothing left to lose, nothing to protest.
Learn to love your anger now, Anger here is all you possess.
Welcome to the edge.

Below the towers of the citadel,
Seems someone overlooked the cost.
Forgotten soldier of paradise,
Now paradise is lost.

Recognition never realised;
Savlation lost amount the crowd
So tell me here beside this sterile sea:
"Where is your nation now?"

[Say it]

Hey boy, give your dreams a rest,
If you're tired of searching, this is where it ends.
There's nothing left to lose, nothing to protest.
Learn to love your anger now, Anger here is all you possess.

Welcome to the edge..

Whats Your Poison?

We are officially in the most poisonous place on the planet.. thats right folks in downtown Port Douglas.

Laying in bed this morning.. watching Discovery channel throwing back a coffee, a show about poisons came on. With no further-a-do.. they announced that Port Douglas in Queensland Australia held the title as the most poisonous place on earth. Having more critters loaded up with more poison then anywhere else.

I pulled the sheets tigher up around my neck :)

Yesterday.. we drove to Cairns.. blinked and almost missed it, and then up to Kuranda in the moutains which overlook Cairns. Didnt expect much from it and was pleasantly surprised.. it was quite nice indeed featuring the Barron Falls.. which incidently was quite confusing to find. All of the sign posts to it pointed in different directions..

Today we booked ourselves on a cruise out to the reef.. right on the edge of the continential shelf!!! Some of you know my theory that everything in the water is out to kill you.. heck.. I dont know whats going to be safest - will I be taken by a giant squid or will a killer snake full of toxins get me.. land or sea its not safe up here folks :)

2 days left in paradise.. and yes the sun is shinning and its hot as..

All Roads Stop Here

Today we drove up as far as we could on a 'sealed' road heading north on the east coast of Australia. In essence, we drove to the point where civilization ends! Cape Tribulation. Right in the middle of the Daintree Rain Forest. Where the rainforest meets the coral sea. It really was spectacular.. got heaps of photographs to boot and will post them when we get back on Saturday.

Its still been raining.. although it stopped for awhile when we drove up so high that we were in the clouds :)

In the Daintree we had a croc burger (had to really didnt we).. didnt manage to see any crocs though.. apart from the one in the tree.. we did see a cassowary though.. think a colourful emu that attacks.. (if you dont know what an emu is then remember you are logged onto the internet .. use it :) )

Yesterday we went into Mossman Gorge.. which is on the outter edge of the daintree.. it was quite spectac.. also actually.. notwithstanding the rain.. (being in a rainforest you dont really notice it anyway).. it as been fantastic.. still dont know if we are going to get out to the great barrier reef though... it will be a disappointment if we dont.. but the winds are very very strong up there right now.. infact Strong Wind Warnings... it has until Friday to calm down..

Holiday Days 1 & 2

The promo for holidays in Queensland is "Beautiful one day - perfect the next". Thats bullshit they lie! Second day of the holiday and we have tropical rain :(

The thing about the tropical climate is that it rains quite heavy for a few minutes and then the sun tries to break through and it gets bloody humid.

Anyway, Port Douglas is where we are, just north or Cairns. The accomodation is great.. really fantastic.. outdoor bath and shower.. its great.. say no more :)

Today we have hired a car.. we hope to drive up into the Daintree tomorrow and the next day.. as far as the sealed road will take us - the edge of civilization?

We also hope to get out onto the Great Barrier Reef - the outter reef.. just on the end of the continetial shelf.. dont know if I am looking forward to that because I have a theory that everything in the water is out to kill you..

Eitherway - we are having a nice relaxing time.. most of the tours are pretty expensive.. but.. it has to be done..

Lookout.. it starting to rain again..

Good Bye Work Hello Sun

This time tomorrow I should be in Port Douglas - northern eastern Australia on the barrier reef near Cairns. Heck look it up of you dont know where it is.. you are are logged onto the internet after all..

Will be there for a week soaking up the sun and generally having good fun! (Who said I cant write songs!).. Annabelle won this fabo holiday (before she met me..) and she had decided to claim it.. and take me along too :) Sweet girl isnt she.

Earlier in the week I was off to Adelaide.. not much fun to report there.. it rained and I was only there for the day anyway.. and worst of all when I got there I found out I could have done what I needed to do sitting at my desk in Sydney.. meaning I didnt really need to get up at 5.30am for that flight now did I?

Well thats it for me for the time being.. I have some sun to say hello to :)

Miss me already?
